Our Story

HM Research Group was born out of a deep conviction to reshape how businesses access market intelligence and strategic insight. Founded by Hoji Mirzakulov, a seasoned growth consultant with over a decade of experience at the forefront of strategy and market research, the firm emerged in response to a growing frustration shared by many clients: traditional consulting and research services were often prohibitively expensive, slow-moving, and disconnected from real operational needs.

Hoji saw a gap, a critical space between costly top-tier consulting firms and generic research providers. The market was saturated with insights that lacked depth, context, or actionable relevance, especially for emerging businesses and ambitious corporates across Southeast Asia and beyond.

It was during his transformative MBA journey at the Asia School of Business in collaboration with MIT Sloan that the idea took shape. Immersed in ASB’s innovation-focused incubator and surrounded by world-class faculty, entrepreneurs, and industry mentors, Hoji partnered with like-minded researchers and strategists to design a new model, one that merges the rigor of consulting with the speed, flexibility, and customization of deep research.

Drawing from fieldwork across Southeast Asia, and enriched by academic collaboration and hands-on consulting projects, the team refined HM Research Group into a next-generation Growth Intelligence firm. One that’s lean but insightful, strategic but data-driven, boutique but scalable.

Today, HM Research Group is a founder-led, research-powered consulting firm that blends bespoke market intelligence with high-impact strategic thinking. We exist to unlock smarter, more sustainable growth for organizations that demand better insights, not just bigger decks.
